Bio

“Acoustic guitar riffs biting through milky synthesizers are only the back drop of an enormous, melancholy atmosphere accented by a dreamy, yet believable vocal presentation.”
I do not know of many other musicians who have made the transition from being a metal head to a solo pop artist; my influences range from Metallica to Justin Timberlake. In a year’s time, I have evolved from opening the stage for average local acts to the notable rap group, ‘Swollen Members’ (November 2009). You should expect to hear modern pop music from me – but beneath it is a real homegrown product.
My name is Maverick Judson and I am from Emo, Ontario. If there is any feeling or experience I am unable to recreate in song– let me know- and I can assure you that I will prove you wrong. I have always been a stickler for words in the sense that I believe there is a perfect phrasing and unique delivery that is the essence of every thought translated into song and lyric. Some of my utmost repulsive experiences should still resemble some sort of artistic element.
Writing and producing my first album, “You”, released in the summer of 2009, helped preserve some of my most painful, and also, most uplifting experiences. I believe in structure, but I also believe there is no better way to interpret a feeling than by simply capturing it in the moment. In reinforcing this belief, some of my songs were written off-the-cuff.
In the summer of 2009, I returned home to release my CD, “You”, to my friends, family, and other special supporters. I told them that we do not laugh at the same jokes, so why should we cry to the same love songs? Or in other words, ‘interpret these songs as you will; you are the reason why I called my album “You”. Since then, I have sold over 300 CDs, 200 shirts and various other merchandise on my own while attending the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.
Currently, I am preparing a 4 song EP to be released in 2010 along with a featured single titled “So Cold” that will include a music video that has been shot with “All Good Projects”. As I am an unsigned, independent artist, I often incorporate unique concepts into self-edited promotional videos to keep my fans guessing!
Overall, my music reflects real experiences that everyone can relate to. If you listen to “You” in its entirety, (or any of my music for that matter), without feeling a connection, then I have failed.
