X'S AND O'S

I’m a hard working man traveling most my life
This dead end job just makes just enough to get by
Staring down this endless highway has made me blind
Leave my baby home while I stay in these old dives
Digging through my suit case I found a note
So, I opened it to see what she wrote

CHORUS:
She said honey can’t wait till you get back home
I bet you can’t guess what I don’t have on
It’s a surprise you’ll have to wait and see
I miss you like I hope you’re missing me
Ain’t no Romeo what she see’s in me well I don’t know
She just signed it with a lip stick kiss and x’s and o’s

A few days off, a fishing trip with the guys
Pulled out my lunch, kicked back to tell some lies
Unwrapped my sandwich and took me a big ole’ bite
But, I couldn’t bite through something didn’t feel right
When I pulled back what slides out but a note
My buddies laughed lets hear what she wrote

BRIDGE:
My friends all think she’s crazy
But, they're just jealous I can see
I bet they wish it was them instead of me

CHORUS:
She said honey can’t wait till you get back home
I bet you can’t guess what I don’t have on
It’s a surprise you’ll have to wait and see
I miss you like I hope you’re missing me
Ain’t no Romeo what she see’s in me well I don’t know
She just signed it with a lip stick kiss and x's and o's

IN MY YOUNGER DAYS

In my younger days I was a rebel child
Held nothin’ back crazy runnin’ wild
Walkin’ tall and proud to be a southern man
Thought I knew it all I was pushin’ away
From anything that got in my way
Just a gypsy soul takin’ a stubborn stand

CHORUS:
In my younger days I didn’t give a damn
About anyone else that’s how it was back when
I was acting a fool and just out for fun
That’s the difference between now and then

In my younger days I had all the girls
Wouldn’t let anyone share my world
But I’m older now can’t even catch an eye
Guess I thought the girls would be there forever
Young and dumb I didn’t know no better
Now I see I let some good ones roll on by

CHORUS:
In my younger days I didn’t give a damn
About anyone else that’s how I was back when
I was acting a fool and just out for fun
That’s the difference between now and then

In my younger days I was movin’ fast
I didn’t want anything to last
But I’m older now I kinda’ take it slow
My parent’s vision wasn’t in my sights
Now all I wanta’ do is set things right
Lookin’ back where the hell did my life go

END CHORUS:
In my younger days I didn’t give a damn
About anyone else that’s how it was back when
I was acting a fool and just out for fun
That’s the difference between now and then
In my younger days- In my younger days
I know now what I wish I knew back then
About my younger days

BROKENHEARTED

I left a trail of broken hearts all over this town
I’ve spent most of my life out free and reckless runnin’ round
I was playin’ all the girls just to have a night for fun
Never thought of consequences that were bound to come
Then one night- I met a girl- She got a hold on my heart- And changed my world

CHORUS:
Brokenhearted- Left a trail of broken hearts that leads back to my door
Guess I never knew what love was- until I was left forsaken and longing for
Another chance- To come my way- I know I earned the pain- I feel now everyday
Now I’m sitting here brokenhearted with this lonely trail that leads back to my heart

There was a certain attraction I never felt before
But she just wanted a night of passion and nothing more
Now the tables have turned I’ve lived on both sides now
This emptiness fills my heart gotta move on some how
Guess I wasn’t prepared- To have my heart- Turned upside down- and pulled apart

BRIDGE:
Now I feel like- I have to find- A girl to love me- Stand by me for all time

END CHORUS:
Brokenhearted- Left a trail of broken hearts that leads back to my door
Guess I never knew what love was- until I was left forsaken and longing for
Another chance- To come my way- I know I earned the pain- I feel now everyday
Now I’m sitting here brokenhearted with this lonely trail that leads back to my heart
I’m sitting here broken hearted with this lonely trail that leads back to my heart

GEORGIA'S ALWAYS ON MY MIND

I’m a southern man at heart destine to ramble on
My work took me down this road far away
Those Georgia girls by far the best I’ve ever known
Strolling back down memory lane through those by gone days

On a front porch swing we took in the sounds of the night
Honeysuckle reminds me of her smell to this day
Stared in her eyes stole my first kiss she said that’s alright
As a shooting star sailed on by we wished our life away

CHORUS:
Every time I hear it’s a rainy night in Georgia
I get heartsick as the tears fill up my eyes
Didn’t know when I moved on just how much I’d miss ya
When I left Georgia I left my heart behind
Now when it starts to rain Georgia’s always on my mind

I look back upon a walk through the woods from years ago
It cleared my head to watch the sunrise start the day
Dogwoods in bloom lit up the trail a perfect morning glow
You could smell the pines as the morning due steamed away

A mockingbird sang me a song like a long lost friend
I whistled along emulating the same ole’ tune
Then I recollect a family dinner that takes me back again
Been gone so long I can’t shake these ole’ Georgia blues

REPEAT CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
It’s the simple things I miss the most
I’ve been around long enough to know
All I wanta’ do is find my way back home

REPEAT CHORUS:
