Max Dishaw

Max Dishaw has been performing as well as producing Hip-Hop music for over eight years in Canada and Europe. Throughout his childhood, classical piano and alto saxophone satisfied his interest but an introduction to the powerful sounds of Hip-Hop changed his focus forever. Immediately he began writing his own lyrics and albums. From 2006 - 2009 Dishaw created three solo albums in his bedroom studio at his parents’ home which he called Bodhi Tree Studios.

After several years of producing his own work and collaborating with multiple artists in his hometown of Victoria, Dishaw relocated to London, England. Here he studied Music Production and Sound Engineering at Point Blank College of Music. Over the course of the next year he learned from some of England’s most highly respected Sound Designers, Music Producers and Mixers at the college. Freedom From Status, a Jazz-influenced record with heavy bass lines and complex rhyme schemes was the results of a year’s hard work and marked his fourth studio album.

Since discovering his talents as an artist, the West Coast MC has performed bilingually in French and English in over a dozen venues in Canada, England, and France. Exposure to different cultures and languages inspired an original sound thats speaks to a broad range of listeners who connect with his vivid lyrics and uplifting beats. In 2012 Dishaw moved to Vancouver B.C where he attended Nimbus School of Recording Arts in the Advanced Music Production program. During this time he completed his 5th studio album and was awarded a diploma in Sound Engineering and Music Production.

Taken from the name of the original studio where his career began, Dishaw now operates Bodhi Tree Productions out of his home in Vancouver B.C. Here he produces beats, mixes and engineers for local artists. As the Executive Producer of Bodhi Tree Productions, he oversees projects and is the creative director on the albums he works on with his team of beatmakers and visual artists. The production company is designed to be a one stop shop for unsigned up and coming musicians who require studio space and engineering services to start and finish their albums.
