Bio

As young as this 20 year old singer/songwriter is, you won’t be able to
tell by her seasoned voice and confident stage presence. Maxime Philips
has a unique sound that by some people is described as a mix between Adele
(vocally) and Bob Dylan (Lyrically). She loves writing about her
experiences in live, but also gets inspired by strangers and friends.

Maxime didn’t realize she was talented musically, until she started acting
school and took singing lessons for a musical she played a role in. Even
though she liked acting she LOVED music undeniably. So music is the
journey she embarked on, learning how to play keyboard and guitar, she
made sure it wasn’t only her vocals she was developing. She worked on her
craft during her official training at Zadkine Popacademy. While in school,
Maxime realized that performing a lot would definitely help her perfect to
her live show. She started enlisting for the different talent shows and
auditions. She started frequenting jam sessions like R’Voices and Industry
Night. She was successful in drawing the attention from different Movers &
Shakers in the Dutch Music Industry and even got a chance to share the
stage with Grammy award winning artist Anthony Hamilton.

The New Skool Rules Exchange audition was the beginning of a new chapter
in Maxime Philips’ career. Maxime got picked with 7 others out of more
than 500 people that auditioned in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam,
Atlanta, L.A. and New York, to go to Atlanta and work with Grammy Award
winning producers Anthony Dent (a.o. responsible for Survivor and Nasty
Girls) and Needlz (a.o. responsible for Just the Way You Are an Piggy
Bank). She gave it her all, during her days in Atlanta and that paid off.

As a result she was able to record 3 more solo records with Grammy Award
winning producer Needlz that truly sparked the interest of several
American and English labels after some amazing performances at New Skool
Rules 2013.

Maxime Philips is now working on her album with Dutch, English and
American producers, while her production company Epitome Entertainment is
negotiating a record deal for her. She definitely can't complain about
(inter)national interest in her. She was invited by Ray Paul (The
PlaymakerGroup) and Ammo Talwar (Punch Records) to join the 7 city Soul
Acoustic Tour in June of 2013 and obviously she accepted this amazing
invite. This gave her the opportunity to perform at London's Jazz Cafe,
Birmingham's Glee Club and the Go North Festival amongst others, where she
graced the stage with Terri Walker, Kof and She'zar amongst others.

The tour definitely opened up new doors for Maxime, including doing a
collaboration with amazing singer/songwriter Kof, one of the headliners on
the tour and another UK gig in Birmingham, Industry Showcase in Birmingham
in August. While still performing frequently in the Netherlands for
instance in Bird and the Unie.

Maxime is superexcited about al lthese new developments and can’t wait to
perform for music lovers all over the world. Follow her on @maxime_music
