Bio

Celebrating the life of a star who will shine bright forever more.

Eric Sylvester Charles aka Maxi Millian came into this world in beautiful Jamaica on February 24, 1959.

Born with a key note on the tip of his lips so to speak from boyhood Maxi knew that entertaining through music
was the path meant for him to travel.

Though a long journey with hills and rocks in between Maxi did not give up his passion
and dedication to spreading good and loving reggae vibes.

Even in sleep there was always a song vibrating from his heart and soul one of the characteristics
that everyone will remember about this man called Maxi.

Where did he start? With ledgends such as Philip Fraser, the first to take Maxi to King Tubby's studio,
Dennis Brown, Tinga Stewart, Peter Rankin, and Michael Prophet, Maxi's voice took him closer to
his dreams and aspirations.

Leaving the place where he called home from birth Maxi's real work began when migrating to Europe
while there performing opening acts for Gregory Isaccs, Aswald and many more...

Leaving an everlasting impression on his audiences in Japan, Australia, and Singapore, Maxi
hung his hat in Toronto Canada.

Connecting with Toronto's reggae community such as Brad Sinclair, Sir B from 105.5 Chry F.M.
Keithy Ranks, Shamrock, Clayton C with the on-going assistance of his promoter Judy British, Maxi paved the
way for all upcoming and current artist to follow.

Despite the struggle of every day life and the stumbling blocks that are affiliated with the life
of a music artist, Maxi showed us all that perseverance, determination, and most of all how faith goes
a long way.

Leaving the world with sounds like: Loving Jah, Fathers ways, Baby, baby, and his hit track along side Keithy Ranks
rendition of the late Dennis Brown's number one hit love and hate, Maxi will not be forgotten.

Not only known for his powerful yet soothing voice, Maxi was a man known to promote peace, positivity,
and was the first person to dry one's tears.

As we reflect today on the life of this beautiful person, let us not lay to rest Maxi's vision of a peaceful,
loving atmosphere.

One can almost hear him sing "All the good things I've done its out of loving Jah'.

Always putting others before him self and encouraging love for all those around him let us celebrate
Maxi's return to sing with the Angels above.

Love, faith and courage are the three words to describe a dearly missed Father, brother, son, uncle, and friend 'Maxi Millian'.

"Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord - for we walk by faith and not by sight - we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and at home with the Lord. Therefore, we have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:6-10).
