"MEKKO CHIVON ENTERTAINMENT SIGNS IT'S FIRST URBAN GOSPEL LABEL TO MAJOR DISTRIBUTION DEAL"

Mekko signs G.I. Entertainment / The Arsenal to major distribution deal. This will be their first label deal in the Gospel Hip Hop genre. The first artist will be Mercenary 6 with his debut album entitled "My Testimony; A Prepared Soul by M.K. Lawson". This is a big step for Mekko Chivon considering that this will be there first promotion of urban gospel. "It's actually a blessing to be part of a company that only did secular retail and now we're their first gospel company. Not many other companies gave me a chance but, now i'm part of a successful team that will grow," said M.K. Lawson, CEO of The Arsenal. "all i can do is put the business in God's hands and have him carry it out to a good outcome." - RAPZILLA

Bio

Maximus is an up and coming artist with an ear for music and a heart that directs every song he creates. His soulful melodies vary in style from track to track and yet all have the feel of how hip-hop used to be, musical. He is a producer and a writer; a singer and a rapper and he’s able to use all of these elements in the same song. Born and raised in Pittsburg California as Daniel Lee Jones Jr., Maximus began perfecting his craft at an early age. In 2000 he produced his first full album “The Cranium” and built a heavy buzz around the bay area. Now, as 2006 approaches, a new and more mature Maximus is returning to the game with a vision to express his heart again through music that touches the soul. He believes in the evolution of true hip-hop and is driven to contribute to the movement away from the radio-friendly monotony. Maximus clings to the goal of making music from within and poetry that challenges the mind. Though Maximus has been at his art for a while, he now believes that with God as his navigator, his greatest material is yet to be released and his journey in music has just begun.
