Maxine Soakai

Maxine Soakai is an up and coming singer and songwriter. Her lineage comes from a island located in the south pacific, called Tonga. In Tonga, the people have an amazing sound in their voice, and this style was instilled in Maxine since she was a baby.

Maxine began singing for large events and audiences at the young age of five. Performing came natural to Maxine at a young age, as she has always felt comfortable being onstage. At 12 years old she taught herself how to play the piano and she began to write music when she was 14. Then she picked up a guitar and taught herself how to play, this is when she truly developed her talent for songwriting. In high school, Maxine’s very close friend was killed in a car accident. She was devastated and needed a way to cope with her friend’s death, so she turned to music and began writing more songs than ever.

Maxine pushed hard to graduate early from high school to enroll at Brigham Young University, where she could study music in depth and fine tune her talent. In 2009 Maxine was contacted by an investor who wanted to sponsor her to record a Christian album, which she named, The Light Of Christ. She recorded with Brunson Brothers, a state of the art LA-quality studio. The album opened up many doors for Maxine. She was able to meet many people in the industry, do radio interviews, she's currently getting local radio airplay, and has been asked to be a motivational speaker at several events for youth.

Maxine writes many different genres of music including: Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Country, Reggae, and Christian. She’s currently working on a number of new Pop songs that she is scheduled to finish by August and will then begin doing live performances.
