"Max Lazich - Up-and-Coming"

Born in Hamilton, Ontario and now living in Burlington, Max Lazich has always had a true passion for drums and music, manifested since the tender age of three. At age eleven, Max took private lessons from Hamilton's Ray Farrugia, drummer from the nineties band Junkhouse.

Acquiring a great understanding of the groove, in addition to Latin-based rhythms, Max continued studying with Chris Cawthray. When he was younger, Max had dreams of being a rock star and touring the world. Today, he has a more practical goal: becoming a professional gigging, studio and clinic drummer.

It's a natural progression when you consider his influences: Marco Minnemann, Terry Bozzio, Chad Wackerman, Chris Cawthray, Joey Baron, and the late great Tony Williams. His understanding in groove, modulation, odd/even time signatures, independence, and the application of ostinatos to the drum set make Max Lazich a young drummer of great potential. He plays DW Drums, Evans heads, Paiste cymbals, and he has recently been signed with Headhunter drumsticks. - Drums ETC
