Maxon Blewitt's self titled first album was released in Belgium and Holland in the fall of 2004 on the bands own label Dim Din Records (sales & distribution by V2 Music). The radio singles "Celebrate" (April 2004), "Stupid Cupid" (July 2004) and "As Happy As Can Be" were in good rotation on both alternative and mainstream radio stations in these territories. "As Happy As Can Be" for which a music video was shot, was recently nominated for the forthcoming Belgian Zamu Music Awards in the categorie "Best Song 2004"

Besides his little solo performances and activities as a guitarist and composer for Zita Swoon, Bjorn Eriksson is, since 2002, writing lyrics and composing music for Maxon Blewitt, his own band and main concern in which he can give outlet to his personal and most intimate passionate experiences.
The Belgian band was immediately noticed by US label Tract Records that invited Maxon Blewitt to contribute to two of their inhouse compilations. Also on one of these compilations: the Canadian Great Lake Swimmers. Hence Maxon Blewitt ends up performing at the Canadian Music Week 2005 in Toronto on March 4th at Jeff Healeys and later on at the SXSW Festival 2005 in Austin, Texas on March 17th at Nunos.

Maxon Blewitt released its first album in Belgium and Holland (Dim Din Records / V2 Music) in the fall of 2004. Release in North America is on the agenda for 2005.
The musical carreer of Bjorn Eriksson took off in 1991, when as a 15-year-old he joined his father in a bluegrass/country band called Hank van Damme. In 1995 he feels the time is right to start his own band: Tumbleweed can count on instant succes and is immediately booked as headline for the first edition of the Antwerp music festival De Nachten, now one of the leading festivals for upcoming talent in Belgium.
His encounter with Stef Kamil Carlens in 1997 at the time still an active member of dEUS leads to a co-writing of the soundtrack for Patrice Troyes LAmant de Maman and shorty after to the birth of Moondog Jr. whose name change into Zita Swoon only added to the success, resulting in what might be called a European break-through. Other co-writings with Stef Kamil Carlens include Maria and The Bananaqueen.
As a guest musician Bjorn Eriksson regularly appears on recordings of and/or on stage with bands like Calexico, The Seatsniffers, Pieter Jan De Smet (PJDS) and Magnus, the latest project of Tom Barman (dEUS).
The Countrykittens a sort of honky tonk project in 2000 with Seatsniffers frontman Walter Broes, sister Eva Eriksson and best friend Lenn Dauphin is Bjorns tribute to major musical influence Hank Williams.
In 2001 Bjorn heads of to New York to perform in Blue Sphinx, a bluegrass, gospel and Sun Ra experience with reknowned American musicians as Jon Birdsong (Beck, Beth Orton, Victoria Williams, Brass Monkey) and Smokey Hormel (Tom Waits, Beck, Johnny Cash, Smokey and Miho).
Back in Belgium, Eriksson engages in an experimental electronic solo project called Blitzzega (resulting in the release of a limited numbered and signed edition) and, in co-writing with other Zita Swoon musicians, he composes the music for the theater/dance piece Plage Tattoo by Les Ballets C. de la B.
