Maxwell's Big Four are a four-piece rock and roll band from the prairie town of Saskatoon. Maxwell's Big Four rose from the ashes of The Musty Steers, who had released an album and played shows with many notiable acts including C'Mon, Lions in the Street, and The Sheepdogs.

They formed in the winter of '08 when bassist Jeff Pfeifer joined the remaining members of The Musty Steers for a new project. After isolating themselves in a small-town hall for two weeks, they quickly came together to write and record an album's worth of new material. They then spent five weeks of honing their live show in the Arctic circle under the midnight sun and touring western-Canada garnering much praise for the intensity of their live show. Maxwell's Big Four are eager to ride the momentum that they have built in the past year.

Maxwell's Big Four like all music but the following artists are held in high esteem:The Band, The Beatles, The Stooges, Blind Melon, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Johnny Cash, C'Mon, Flying Burrito Brothers/Gram Parsons, Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, The Sadies, Soundgarden, Tool, Ween, The Who and many more.
