NJ-based sisters MayaJean share their unique combination of lyricism, vocals, and sultry sound in their demo release, These Three Chords - EP.
The four tracks on These Three Chords - EP were written and composed by MayaJean. Presenting a moving tribute to struggle and womanhood, MayaJean pairs the lyrics with simple musical arrangements to further draw listeners into the music’s core story. While deep and soulful, the songs aren’t complex - nor are they meant to be.
The EP’s title was inspired by the writing process itself - each song started out as just three basic chords. Infused with rock, reggae, folk, and even world music influences from there, These Three Chords - EP stands as a celebration of both simplicity and strength.
