Bio
The melodic and soothing voice of Maya Songbird is addictive. For many years she pushed to find her place in the music industry. Not fitting the industries standards, yet wanting to maintain her identity, the plus-sized, vintage-loving singer, struggled not to be labeled a Rhythm and Blues artist. In 2007, Songbird met producer, JasWho? and was introduced to the world of Dance Music.
Feeling like she has nothing to lose the independent artist has taken a leap and successfully raised more than $5,000 towards the production of her debut full-length album through a Kickstarter.com campaign. Maya Songbirds debut EP, Castro Kid is scheduled for release in early 2012.
