Mayito Rivera -El Poeta de la Rumba is one of the five leading vocalists of the Latin scene worldwide! For many years he was the front man of the internationally successful Cuban salsa legend Los Van Van. Countless concert tours through Latin America, the USA, Canada, Japan, China, the former Soviet Union and almost all the countries of Europe have made him one of the most famous voices and faces we know from Cuba today.

He has shared the stage with many other stars: for example Pio Leyva, Osdalgia, Tirso Duarte, Alexander Abreu y Habana Dprimera, Waldo Mendoza, El Zorro, Haila, Jos Luis Barba, Telmary, Dos Four, Timbalive and many more. In Wim Wenders movie production Sons of Cuba (Buena Vista Next Generation) he played a leading part. In the course of his career he has received numerous awards for his outstanding voice and has won a variety of international prizes, including the Grammy award together with Los Van Van, and another Grammy nomination in the Best Salsa Album of the Year category for his solo album Negrito Bailador.
