"Dallas powerhouse settling in at Iron Horse Pub"

She was born of a family of gypsies; brightened by the fading light of vauderville. She traveled as a Pentecostal missionary across the United States and Mexico.
She has been courted by the blues. She has been moved by the gospel. She's communed with Clarence Clemmons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Bonnie Raitt had to meet her.
To say Maylee Thomas lives life sedately is a flasehood if there ever was one.
Thomas, an electrifying presence on stage, rocks and rolls, with a plaintive cry of country whispering somewhere in the background, and a bit of blues kicking her musical panache into full-power mode.
Thomas, long a rocking powerhouse diva on the Dallas music scene, will bring that sound to the Iron Horse Pub tonight for a concert.

"Notes from the pub... Neumeir's Rib Room"

I got to see a very exciting show there recently that featured the Maylee Thomas Band. This Texas band was on the entire show... and I mean ON...
Ms. Thomas is a powerhouse of a performer, and if she ever decided to give up rock 'n' roll, she could easily make it as a musical evangelist. She saved more than a few souls on the night. Anyway...
As good as she is, the band with her is equally superb, and a virtual powerhouse of music with each player being a star in his own right. Indeed, each could front his own band... - Nightflying

"Maylee Thomas has everything but fame"

If there is anything holding Maylee Thomas back from national stardom, it is certainly not lack of talent, passion or energy.
It is not for want of a tight, strong, talented band that can stand entirely on its own, because she has that in spades.
It is not inexperience - she has been singing and performing for a lifetime and certainly knows how to move a crowd.
She has excellent song-writing ability, often in collaboration with Texas guitarist Andy Timmons, and a great repertoire of tunes that swing, gently sway, and also rock.
There is a gospel influence in her sound, but a stronger blues tone that sneaks through on many tunes, though the lady really has created her own forte.
Many have made comparisons to Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt - even Celine Dion - but any attempt to pigeon-hole her style is unfair and futile. She is genuinely her own.
