Maynex

Bryon and Saxon met in late primary school circa 1998. They went to high school together where they both developed a music obsession that manifested as Bryon began playing guitar and Saxon bass. They jammed through out high school and played some minor competitions and school events. After high school they became estranged but randomly met up a year or so afterward, and resumed jamming. By now they had become decent musicians and songwriters through years of practice and began writing and rehearsing original material influenced by an infinite range of artists and genres spanning from funk, soul, reggae, rock, psychedelic and blues. Chris, another old comrade from high school returned to Perth after studying SAE in Singapore, with an impressive home studio arsenal. Maynex recorded several demo's which were promising, but without a wholesome drummer the potential wasn't fully reached. The music flowing was good but countless line up changes fueled by lack of good drummers and an appetite for dysfunction stalled the band and prevented any real gigs being played for quite some time. Finally a suitable drummer was found (well actually 2 - Mitch and Carl) and the songs took on a new, complete form. This brings us to present time where Maynex are rehearsing, writing, beginning to gig, and ready to bust on the scene and start fuckin' up the program.
