Mazaman

Multi-talented, Toronto born entertainer, producer and emcee by the name of Keith "Mazaman" Barrett.
Raised in Flemingdon Park, and Jamestown Crescent in Rexdale, Mazaman was aware of the many challenges our inner communities are being faced with day to day. In 1995 after working, hustling some dead end jobs, while collecting old vinyl from anywhere possible, he managed to purchase his first keyboard and sampler. Started to make beats and demo shopped them around the streets of Toronto. Soon after he was introduced to Chris Smith (Owner of Chris Smith Management) and renowned engineer Neville "Gadget" Campell. Chris and Gadget took Mazaman under his wings and groomed him in the studio. After gaining musical and industry knowledge from his two mentors, Mazaman is a well seasoned vet and continues to innovate and influence the direction of Canadian urban music and working with many Canadian and International artists.
