MBL Trio

MBL Trio is made up Vocalist/ Guitarist- Michael Lindo, Bassist-Lorenzo Lindo and Drummer/ Percussionist- Ben Kennett. Though a fairly new group the members are no strangers to the music scene. Michael Lindo fronted his former band, Studio Merchants. During his run with the band he won 2nd place in a local battle of the bands competition back in the summer of 2010. With a remarkable ear for rhythm and melody he is the driving force behind the group’s songwriting. He has also shared the stage with various well known local acts such as “WD-HAN” and “The August Name”. Lorenzo Lindo, aside from being a very proficient and solid bassist is also a young and gifted Producer and Studio Engineer. He has produced records for various local bands, his most recent being the debut E.P. of MBL Trio entitled “Find the Way”. Ben Kennett though a newcomer to the local music scene is a solid and creative percussionist. Understanding the importance of a solid drummer in any musical group, he provides the foundation and anchors the band into the groove. When these three come together, they create a musical force like no other.

The group came about in the aftermath of a performance by Michael’s former band, Studio Merchants, in a local talent show in early 2011. In the breaking down of the show the band was introduced to drummer, Ben Kennett. Casual conversation led to the discussion of a possible jam session the next day. During that session the three hit it off and decided then and there start a band, bringing about the birth of MBL Trio. They began writing together and performing whenever possible. They have shared the stage with various local bands of many different genres such as Shoeless Soul and Al Torchia and the Tattered Saints. Currently, with a couple of shows under their belt and a growing fan base the band has recorded and released, as of Jan 2, 2012, their debut E.P. “Find the Way”. This first look into what they have to offer showcases their love of various styles of music and their numerous directions they are willing to go to make the music they love. The group’s current focus is promoting their newly released E.P. and continuing to build a following. They also hope to book a summer tour around the area and begin work on a full length album later in the year.
