Biography

What’s magic about MCB?  How we fit so much creativity, talent, experience, skill, insight, artistry and fun into five people.  Every time you turn around we pull another rabbit out of the hat.  A wealth of foot stomping, heart grabbing, thought provoking and just darn good original material.  Over 150 years worth of live performances under our combined heels.  Electric & acoustic, drums, bass, mandolin, pedal steel, flute, percussion, dobro, fiddle, harmonies!  Does it even matter what kind of music
we play?  Of course it does.   We play some of the best original Americana, folk, country and light rock you will ever hear.

Lyrics

Another Day

Written By: Michael Capella

Push the snooze down twice, throw the covers back
Stumble four steps from the bed into the bath
Wash my hair and pull a towel from off the rack
Grab a shirt and pants, head down that old cement path

Another day
Just another day
Just want to make it through another day
If I ever prayed you know what I would say
Help me make tomorrow more than just making it through
Another day

Stop and eat my lunch; sandwich, chips and some fruit
Get my keys and coat, lock up my desk and go
Drive my car back home along that same old route
Fire up the microwave, sit down and watch a TV show

Another day
Just another day
Just want to make it through another day
If I ever prayed you know what I would say
Help me make tomorrow more than just making it through
Another day

When’s the last time I watched the sunshine
Or walked in the rain
What’s the last thing I did
I couldn’t wait to do again?
Another day
Just another day
Just want to make it through another day
If I ever prayed you know what I would say
Help me make tomorrow more than just making it through
Another day
Another day
Another day

Ride These Flames

Written By: Michael Capella

Lighting flashes over the prairie
When it strikes there’s going to be a blaze
For far too long we’ve been cautious and wary
But the heat is rising; I can feel it in your gaze

Sparks jumped the gap as you brushed my hand
A fire started smoldering but don’t grab the sand
Let’s walk hot coals strolling arm in arm
If we went back inside they’d have to kill that smoke alarm

Let’s ride these flames, like a runaway train
Throw on some extra coal
Jump these tracks, don’t look back
Feel that thunder roll
Ride these flames

The band is done the music is over
But we’re still dancing to the sound
Of a bonfire crackling, two hearts pounding
Cinders sizzling as they hit the ground

Let’s ride these flames, like a runaway train
Throw on some extra coal
Jump these tracks, don’t look back
Feel that thunder roll
Ride these flames

New moon tonight turns suddenly bright
Reflecting the light of a wildfire raging

Let’s ride these flames, like a runaway train
Throw on some extra coal
Jump these tracks, don’t look back
Feel that thunder roll
Come on let’s ride these flames
Ride with me, ride these flames
Build this fire higher and higher
Let’s ride these flames

I'm not You

Written By: Michael Capella

I could walk for miles and miles in your shoes
Read your books, drive your car, pay your union dues

But I’m never going to know what’s inside your head
What runs through your mind late at night in your bed
The feelings that grab you deep in your heart
What makes you stop, why do you start
I’m not you

I’d love to sit for hours and listen as the night grows pale
While you tell me your secrets, your dreams, your fears, your life tale

But I’m never going to know what’s inside your head
Why you love what you love and dread what you dread
The feeling pounding deep in your heart
Joy lifting you up, pain tearing you apart
I’m not you

No matter how well I know you, how much we care
How deeply I love you, how much we share
We can carry this talking, feeling thing only so far
I’m who I am, and you’re who you are
I’m not you

I could open your mail, read the letters from your mom
Have dinner with your sister, play catch with your kids on the lawn

But I’m never going to know what’s inside your head
What runs through your mind late at night in your bed
The feelings that grab you deep in your heart
What makes you stop, why do you start
I’m not you
No I’m not you
