McCoy Simonson's passion is the great wilderness of Canada. His inspiration comes from these wild places where the hum and buzz of the city disappear on the mountain breeze and the heat of the pavement is soothed by the icy waters of the alpine rivers. Travelling through Canada's National Parks by foot, ski, and canoe, he draws on the endless beauty of his surroundings for his musical inspiration. This, coupled with a deep interest in the human history of the parks is the core of what makes his music unique.
McCoy began his mission to write an album dedicated to each of Canada's National Parks in 2008 with his "McCoy Simonson's Jasper" album which is being recorded in summer '09 at Sanctuary Studios in Edmonton.
