Bio

MCCREE was formed 2 years ago by ex Kelvin Declined frontman Mark MCree. Mark started writing songs for his solo album after his previous band had broken up. After various conversations with friends a band was put together to work on these songs. It soon became evident that something special was happening and the ideas of a solo album soon transformed to a solid band, but the name MCCREE stuck. The band consists of Mark McCree (vocals and guitar), Lorne McGregor (bass), Neil Payten (Keyboards), Paul Clogg (guitar) and Richard Brodrick (drums). The bands music is solidly rock based. With all members in the band having played in some of South Africa's well known bands, they came together to form what is now regarded by some as "South Africa's next big thing". The band draw their influences from all different genre's with everyone in the band having different musical backgrounds, some have said "this is what makes MCCREE's sound so interesting"

MCCREE are unique in the South African music industry in the way they are releasing their album to the public. An independently released album in the past has always been seen as a band who could not get a record deal, but MCCREE have already had offers from distribution labels as well as interest from record labels and publishers. The band has decided though to connect with their fans as well as offering them more than just a CD in a jewel case. MCCREE plan to encourage fans to buy directly from their website and at live shows, thus offering their fans free merchandise and access to exclusive MCCREE offerings. MCCREE plan to play free shows all around South Africa, on targeted album sales, to those that have bought the album. Using social media as a primary marketing tool, MCCREE will be unique in the way they connect with their fans and what they offer their fans.

The bands much anticipated debut album will be recorded in July 2010 by Brendon Russouw, who has spent years in Nashville tracking various artists. MCCREE has joined forces with different businesses from Studio to live sound hire and sound engineers, thus making a successfull release and sale of their debut album beneficial to all.

Official release date has not been set but the band are looking at November 2010.
