McGARNAGLE is a two-piece irreverent math-rock inspired anti-folk band, comprised of members LANCE LaBAR and JOSH FOSBENNER. Originally a solo act started by Lance in 2013, Josh joined the band in 2014 after meeting each other through mutual friends and playing a show together when Josh was in a previous band, CHRONICALLY AWKWARD. In addition to just playing guitars, LANCE and JOSH are multi-instrumentalists, and are not afraid to incorporate various instruments, such as: banjo, melodica, glockenspiel, synthesizer, kalimba, singing saw, toy piano, and almost anything else they can get their hands on to create original sounding and fun music. While the band sets out to create something completely new musically, they employ humorous and tongue-in-cheek lyrics to juxtapose the sincerity of their compositions. Whether songs are about childhood trauma, celebrity crushes, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Star Trek, the internet, coffee, video games, city living, or biting commentary on contemporary punk ethos; McGarnagle has the innate ability to keep you from guessing what will come next.
