One of our good friends, MC IMPRINT is getting ready to make your heads explode with his new album entitled “The First Impression” dropping next week 1/27/10.

When I got a twitter tag with a link to a video that I "should check out", my first thoughts were that it was another random dude spamming me some shitty music. I gave it a check out, and it was actually pretty good. MC Imprint is out of Seal Beach, California, and he can explain his story a hell of a lot better than I ever could:
"After his father passed away, he found solace on the streets and became hooked on drugs at a very early age. Progressing worse and worse, Imprint began chasing this illustrious lifestyle as a way to buffer his own problems and eventually ended up in custody fighting a six year bid in prison. Through these moments, he realized a change needed to happen."
After that he started rapping, and honed his skill in rehab. He released his first album, First Impressions, back at the end of January, and like i said, he just sent me a link a couple days ago. The tracks are actually catchy as hell, and his flow is pretty dope. I'm really looking forward to see what Imprint puts out in the future. MC IMPRINT is a soldier for his music. He stands alone with out a manager, a record label and still manages to bring great quality to his work. And yes, I am bias because he is my brother but THE MAN IS TALENTED!!! This is what hip hop is suppose to be and you can tell his blood, sweat and tears go into his music. Low and behold, MC Imprint's highly anticipated video for single, "Sidelines" is finally here. The Moore brothers worked their magic once again, and created GOLD. I want to wish the upcoming hip hop artist a very Happy Birthday. While he's hustling hard to fulfill the dream in Atlanta, he's gaining fans across the nation with his word-of-mouth freshman album titled - "The First Impression" and his current official videos/live performances on YouTube.

Street Radio Mag: What inspired you to write the song “I Got You”?
MC Imprint: So the song “I Got You,” was inspired by my trip to the ATL. Some opportunities arose and there was a chance that it would further my music career in music so I dropped everything and ventured to Atlanta! I used the situation with my mother because she has always stuck by my side through thick and thin! My mother has done so much for me, being that she raised my older brother and I by herself since we were the age of 4 and 5! Going to Atlanta meant leaving her back in Cali by herself until I made something happen. I wanted to let her know that I was doing this for us, because WHEN I make it, life will be better for her! I don’t want my mother to have to work anymore because she’s worked so hard her whole life, with no breaks! She did everything she could to try and make a better life for my brother and I, now I want to give her a better life!

Brett Guidry, alias Imprint, understands strife. Raised in Seal Beach, California after his father passed away, he found solace on the streets and became hooked on drugs at a very early age. Progressing worse and worse, Imprint began chasing this illustrious lifestyle as a way to buffer his own problems and eventually ended up in custody fighting a six year bid in prison. Through these moments, he realized a change needed to happen.
Always a fan of music, it was not until he started creating his own brand of West Coast swagger that he finally found a way to channel his aggressions into a more positive light. Honing his craft in a rehabilitation center, Imprint cemented his now lifelong goal. As a member of the Mash Down Babylon community, he quickly embraced this new lifestyle and attacked the microphone with a zeal and a style that would only force other acts into envy.
Set to release his first album in 2011, "The First Impression" produced in full by:THE OPTIMIST will undoubtably make it's mark and set Imprint far apart from his contemporaries.
