Bio
Rooted deep in the "hit recording capital of the world"-Muscle Shoals, AL, McKenzie received her first guitar at age 12 and began to teach herself to play. As she progressed in her playing, her ability to sing and write her own music flourished. By the age of sixteen, she had performed at various local and regional venues in the Southeast. In august of 2009 at age seventeen she released her critically acclaimed debut EP "The Sound of Pindrops" which includes five original songs inspired by the experiences and observations of her every-day life. McKenzie has a wide range of musical influences ranging from Johnny Cash, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Frank Sinatra, Paramore and Ingrid Michaelson. She seamlessly blends pop, rock, folk and country into a new unique style that is all her own. She has performed at such venues as: Bluebird Cafe-Nashville, Jackson Square-New Orleans, Alamo and Guadalupe Plaza-San Antonio, Rocketown-Nashville, 3rd and Lindsley- Nashville; Bridge Street Town Centre-Huntsville, Freedom Celebration 2009-Huntsville, Riverfront Park-Sheffield, Relay for Life-Muscle Shoals and Rivertown Coffee-Florence.
