I must say that whenever I attend a Hip-Hop show in NYC, the attire women wear is usually appropriate, in relation to the constant “video girl” that we get to feast our eyes upon in BET’s Uncut or VH1/MTV. If you do watch Shakira, her fame not only carves the great voice, but she does sound much better hitting high notes in flesh over-tone doing a split while singing on a basically… naked… hit song… or should I say hit… naked… song.

These interviews are an awesome insight into the lives of touring artists sleeping in the back of the Toyota and on couches across the nation. We first went in search of dinner and wound up at a little diner (better known as “coney island” in Detroit) called 3 sisters. There was an old Greek lady in the kitchen and she wore a revolver in her apron. After we ate we went back to the venue and I just caught the final song of Aztek’s set. Starting march 4 Salt lake city rappers MC PIGPEN and PAT MAINE are headed on a tour with hip hip legends MASTA ACE and EDO G. Its part of the A&E tour to help promote ace and edo’s recent album. Mc pigpen and Pat maine are wrapping up a major tour recently and are kicking off another called the alive and well tour coming up in april. The Great Escape tour featuring MC Pigpen & Pat Maine W/Dusk One kicks off July 17th at the Star Bar in Park City, Utah. The national tour, which features the three emcees from Utah, will put the trio on the road for more than 3 months. This tour will take the three emcees from coast to coast and back again. With shows scheduled from Los Angeles to New york and everywhere in between.

MC Pigpen is no stranger to touring, this being his 5th national tour. Pigpen has been on a full US tour with hip hop legends Masta Ace and Edo G, as well as smaller tour runs with Ugly Duckling, Pigeon John, Josh martinez, One Belo and Kosha Dillz.

Dusk One will be performing as well as doing live painting and art throughout the tour. Dusk first started out with the group “Mind State” which is a major staple in the Salt Lake rap scene. Branching out as a solo artist regionally and nationally, Dusk is known for his very energetic live shows and a trademarked raspy flow that matches up with gritty heavy hitting beats.

At 22 years old Pat Maine has made a name for himself in the hip-hop world. Having shared stages and rocked tours with Masta Ace & Edo G as well as some smaller runs with Josh Martinez and Pigeon John, he has shared the stage with the likes of Eyedea & Abilities, Ugly Duckling, Onary Osborne, Grieves and many more.

MC Pig Pen & Pat Maine - Old Hands by Pat maine
MC Pig Pen and Pat Maine have earned a reputation within the last
year as two of the hardest working, solo Hip Hop acts to come out of
the South West in a long time. Now, the two have teamed up on an album that is due out winter 2010. And, based on the sneak leak, 'Old Hands',
there is no denying that they put the same effort and hard work into their music that they do on
their touring; which is saying a lot. Pig Pen's aggressive and to the
point style, accompanied by the smooth flow of Pat Maine's in depth
