Bio

MC Question Marc hails from a wide stretch of the country. From big cities to small towns, MC’s done it all. When MC’s father was transferred out to Omaha, Nebraska, MC would begin developing a reputation as an MC. Due to a scar on the side of his head from a brain surgery he had earlier in his life, his friends gave him the name, MC Question Marc, from the shape of the scar. Over time, MC Question Marc, or MC has developed a wide range of writing styles. having been taught how to write commercial Country first, MC broadened his repertoire to be able to write not only mainstream Country, but also Pop, Dance, and of course, Rap.

Currently, MC is working on his debut album. It is a mix of Alternative Rock, mainstream Country, and Hip Hop. Heavily influenced by college radio, MC’s goal with this album is to secure a firm spot on the college charts. MC has also started a daily blog that was influenced by his old youth pastor. MC says it will take things that are currently tending, and tie them in to music history.

“The goal is to teach people who may not know a lot about the history of music things they would never find elsewhere,” MC says.

MC’s approach to the business is exactly that- a business approach. MC plans to not only release songs to online, and college radio, but also attend conferences with hopes of networking with A&R.

“Most bands when they’re starting out try to build a fan base through touring. My goal is to build a network of business relationships through conference touring,” says MC.

MC’s main emphasis is college radio. Earlier in MC’s career, he charted number nine on the Top 10 most requested songs on Chattanooga State’s college station in less than a month. MC’s next goal is to chart internationally. He plans to distribute his album to stations all over the U.S., as well as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and South Africa.

“My goal isn’t so much to be an artist. That’s more of a hobby I would like to do around L.A. My goal is to get a publishing deal with a major publishing company, and devote my skills as a songwriter rather than a performer,” says MC.

MC’s current business plan is to create a brand name on social media, finish his album and post it online, and distribute it internationally first, then domestically, and then start attending music conferences within the next two years.

“The good thing about being a songwriter is you’re never too old. Bill Anderson, one of my favorite songwriters, is up there, but he’s still writing hits. Songwriting is like playing the blues- you never get too old,” jokes MC.

MC would like to create a brand name for himself online through social media. His influences for branding are people like Jimmy Fallon. He hopes to finish the album by the end of the year, and begin internationally distributing it in February of 2016, and domestically in the Fall of 2016. MC plans on touring music conferences in early 2017. However, as of now, his main priority is creating a name for himself online.
