Bio
MC West is a relentless twenty three year old hip hop wordsmith from La Porte, Indiana. His ten-song freshman debut, "Spending Money to Make Money," was recorded in Chicago, Illinois with Jason Tulligan of Ape Trax Studios. Beats were provided by Nebula of 365beats.com.
Spending Money to Make Money is a sincere hip-hop primer from an ambitious emcee dealing with the struggles and triumphs of daily life while working toward dreams of hip hop stardom. “Project:End” and “Lyrical Miracle,” tracks aimed at past rap battle opponents, remind competition that though some battles have been lost, the war is just beginning. “Million Dollar Question” and title track, “Spendning Money to Make Money” motivate listeners to stay on their grind before concluding with the hook-friendly, poetic ballad, "Music to my Ears."
In 2010 MC West lent original lyrics to create remixes of tracks from artists including Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, and Jay-Z. The mixtape entitled, "Ask The Judges" was released on West's 22nd birthday, 10/10/10, and Recorded with sound engineer, Reuben, at Sound Lab in Chicago, IL.
February 1st, 2012 saw the release of collaborative mixtape, "Death:Defying," with fellow music makers Matt Stahl, King Filthy, Don DreDeville, and Cilli. West appeared on "Chosen," "Prey For Me," "We Got It," "Angels," & "The Cypher."
