Bio
Putting everything he is and everything he knows into his music, Jayme "Mickey D" McDonald is an aspiring hip-hop artist, from Kenora, Ontario. Jayme's been writing since he was eleven and started battling when he was sixteen, where he was snuck into bars to showcase his raw talent. Mickey D dropped his first mixtape for free when he was seventeen (Vol. I- The Untouchables) a five track disc. He handed out five hundred copies in two days. A year later he put out his first real album (Vol. II- Blood In Blood Out) a twelve track ep, that sold over 2000 copies. The success of the well reviewed album generated an onslaught of shows and hype for Mickey D. He continued with the release of a mixtape (Vol. I Dieslow Records: The Mixtape), featuring other local MC's over his own production. Shortly after, Jayme released a similar project featuring songs from all three of his brothers and their individual projects.
In 2005 Jayme moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to attend Pacific Audio Visual Institute for audio engineering. Since moving there, Jayme has recorded and completed the material for his current release "The Colossal Situation LP". He is currently keeping busy making beats for the following artists: Optimistik, Eternal Love, Ozmosis and releasing collaborative work with Monumental, Chillz and James H. His most recent projects involve a soundtrack for an upcoming documentary entitled "The Hip Hop Massive: Holla", and features on Eternal Love's album "The Beginning" and Monumental's release "the Living Picture." In between these projects Mickey D is waiting on a full length LP release with album title and release date to be announced.
