"The Meadows Brothers"

"Singing guitarists Dustin and Ian Meadows prove that roots music is an unending resource, turning early influences gleaned from the Band and Gillian Welch into an engagingly twangy sibling sound all their own. " - The Boston Globe

"The Meadows Brothers"

The Meadows Brothers prove that a family bond makes for great music. - Daytrotter

"The Meadows Brothers"

Ian and Dustin Meadows are jack-of-all-trades instrumentalists who have come together to create a truly amazing musical experience. Their sound is a throwback to all of the great folk/country/bluegrass/blues that was kicking around both prior to and shortly after World War II, as well as the great folk revival of the 60’s. Oh, did we mention they aren’t even old enough to drink yet? - Lonesome Noise

"Five Americana Bands You Have to Hear..."

They are personifications of the term “Americana,” showing a versatility with blues, country, and classic folk. There’s not a skip track on this whole fantastic album. It’s clever songwriting and brilliant Americana execution in spades. - EartotheGround Music

"The Meadows Brothers"

“Remember that band you started with your brother when you were both in high school? The Meadows Brothers are not that band! Ian and Dustin Meadows are more like what I imagine Ira and Charlie Louvin were like when they were 18 and 20 years old. They are also fine young men, devoid of posturing and pretense. And god knows we need more of that too.” - Chris Bousquet

"The Meadows Brothers"

There is hope for Country Music. Indeed. - Ear to the Ground Music

"The Meadows Brothers"

"All the parts just plain fit, blend and gel. These guys can not only play but play together with very well executed economy. Every beat and every note in its place and a place for every beat and note. All the singing is right on pitch and every word is sung with articulation, meaning and feeling. Although you can hear that the guys are steeped in classic rock and blues, they have crafted original songs that show that their thinking and feeling for music and life work together as a piece."
- Mike Michaels - Shoreline Times

"The Meadows Brothers"

“There is so much emotion in the way these two play together. You can’t not like these guys. Everything about them is genuine and honest.” – Red Line Roots - Red Line Roots

THE MEADOWS BROTHERS

The New England based Americana roots duo, The Meadows Brothers, are best known for their close sibling harmonies, melodious, unsweetened songwriting and expressive musicality. The brothers spryly deliver each carefully crafted song with an old soul sensibility. "Harmonies that will melt your heart into mush, guitar runs that will set your hair on fire..." and supple blues-tinged harp playing make for a satisfying, rich musical encounter.

The Meadows Brothers have developed what the  Boston Globe describes as “an engagingly twangy sibling sound all their own” drawn from a huge list of musicians and genres to create a fresh, distinct brand of  roots music.

The brothers’ original songs; which they typically write together, have been praised for their emotive, relatable lyrics and memorable hooks. Several of their tunes have won awards, and been covered by international acts.

Over the past few years the brothers have played hundreds of shows all over New England, the Midwest and Great Lakes regions, and down the Eastern seaboard. They toured with The Black Lillies last month and  are looking forward to an April tour on their way to Knoxville to perform at Rhythm & Blooms.

In 2012 they released a self-titled CD, in 2013 created a home-recorded, screen printed demo CD affectionately titled “Homegrown”, and recently released “Won’t Be Troubled”

Praise for “Won’t Be Troubled”

I am a sucker for a song that really tells a story. The brothers have a keen ability to really rock, whether it’s with just two guitars and two voices or introducing percussion and electric guitar, but it’s when they bring it down slow and mellow that the harmonies and tenderness of their music shines incredibly bright. Lonesome Pine Company is a great story song, the narrative is eas yto follow and really portrays a sense of working in the wilderness, the loneliness and emotion that ensures, or perhaps something even deeper embedded in the tale.  -Brian Carroll, Redline Roots

“With vivid storytelling, each track becomes a journey into a different place. The teamwork from the brothers is really felt in this album. The guitars feed off each other and the vocals pair together perfectly during the harmonies. While Won’t Be Troubled is not straight from the heartland, it comes close enough to match for being hundreds of miles away.”  - Sean Lynch, WSBU
