Meaku , born Chibike Franklyn Omeaku is a Nigerian bred, Los Angeles raised talent that began cultivating his knack for musical expression at an early age entering into various talent shows, these shows unleashed in him the passion to share his amicable talent with the world. Born Chibuike Franklyn Omeaku, The Nigerian bred; LA raised talent began cultivating his knack for musical expression at an early age by taking part in various talent shows. These small shows unleashed in him the will to share his passion and gift with others. Meaku makes it his goal to live up to the meaning of his name “producer of wealth” as he strives to create classic music that transcends all genres. Meaku, a domestically and internationally known, worldwide marketable artist is known for his melodic voice, engaging lyrics and incredible sound.
Delivering on every single track he has been featured in, Meaku has had the honor of working with several established producers and artists, most notably Grammy Award winning artist L.V ("Gangster's Paradise" ft. Meaku’s versatility shows in his various performances with artist’s such as Trey Songs, Drake, NewBoys and E-40 and they have all observed that he will soon be a force to be reckoned with in the music and entertainment industry. In his own words Meaku describes his music as “inspired by personal experience and imagination”. Meaku draws his professional inspiration from a myriad of artists from traditional Nigerian artist like the late Fela Kuti and Osita Osadebe to Western Artists like Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Donell Jones and Tupac. These artists influence the way he incorporates his music style and lyrics into a perfect blend of rhythm and blues.
Meaku has also been featured on several popular music sites including the popular Nigerian website Notjustok.com as well as Hotnewhiphop.com where his most recent hit “She like it” featuring Glasses Malone received an honorable mention for garnering 100,000 downloads in a single day.
Currently, Meaku is getting ready to headline Robin Thicke’s South Africa tour where he will be also performing for the President of South Africa, as well as making a special Guest Appearance at the 2010 World Cup. He is also working on the videos for “She like it” and “Nigerian American Idol” which features Nigerian rap artist Sauce Kid.
Realizing that longevity is essential in a market that is over-saturated with one-hit wonders, Meaku strives to create classic music that transcends genres.
