LOS ANGELES, 2010 - Recording artist and Rap label CEO mEAn has signed a digital distribution deal with Island Def Jam Digital Distribution through it's venture with digital media company Tunecore. The deal was brokered by The Estate Media Group, who handles general managerial duties for mEAn's Ghetto Soundtrack music label.

The first release under the agreement is Go Shorty (Show Stopper), The first single from the Cleveland, Ohio born, Los Angeles based artist, whose given name is Manny Brooks yet to be titled full length album. Go Shorty (Show Stopper) also recently gained the attention of Microsoft Corporation, who through there affiliation with Reverbnation.com, featured the song in their latest Windows 7 web promotion campaign.

"We are excited about the opportunities that we may now explore thanks to our partnership with Island Def Jam and Tunecore," says mEAn, President and CEO of Ghetto Soundtrack, which also distributes Sky Luv That Diva, Big Stone, Booney Bambino, The Gang and I.P., among others. "Island Def Jam and Tunecore have been the best at what they do in their respective fields. Neither company is afraid to take chances which is evident in the way that they let us be 'us'. These reasons alone demonstrate why this is the kind of movement our team can really get behind. This is only the beginning."

"My current projects means a great deal to me as they represent the joy created from one of the most difficult times of my life. 2009 seemed to be a period of loss for me. Last January, I left my children and my home town of Cleveland, Ohio to help care for my father in his last days and to pursue my career goals in Los Angeles, California. In April of last year, my father passed, followed by a break up with a long time girlfriend, as well as alienation from once close family and friends. At one point, I felt like I had lost everything; everything except for the music, that is. My cousin introduced me to Brandon Pimentel aka B Pimp, who to me had a fresh sound that once again inspired me to begin creating. Along the way, I hooked up with Ale Jhay and Yung Miss, who along with Big Stone and WCDT, helped to create the soundtrack to my latest ghetto opus.

mEAn's music, like life, is a contradiction. On one hand, mEAn represents the pain, struggle and blissful ignorance of today's inner city youth. On the other hand, this music resembles the soul, spirit and power of a human race focused on progression. Where others are 'Real', mEAn is 'Human.' His art is intelligent, dumb, violent, positive, explicit, insane, logical, sober, inebriated, respectful and at times, just nasty.

With the best distribution of their career, mEAn and Ghetto Soundtrack are looking forward to generating new fans and satisfying those who have been following their endeavors over the last few years. "All the achievements made by Ghetto Soundtrack this year would not have been possible if it weren't for not only my hard work and that of my artists and associates, but also the support of our many followers both physically and online," says mEAn "This year is for the people!"
