Bio

Me and the Beast started life as an electro pop duo writing songs you can dance to. Formed in October 2008, singer Carly Cunningham and Producer Ash Bull embarked on a journey to create an eclectic mix of classic electro with a modern alternative edge.

A few months down the line, Ash’s old friend Damo joined the band on bass. Having a passion for electro and synth pop, and having a fair bit of performance experience, this was a natural progression for Me and the Beast

In the New Year of 2009, the band was made complete when joined by Electro beat master: Wooky –

Now a complete four piece, Me and the Beast gig regularly, their favourite haunt being the Dublin castle in Camden.
Me and the Beast came runners up out of 10,000 bands at the Live and Unsigned 2009 competition and were awarded and praised by the legendary Radio 1 Presenter Annie Nightingale and Sex pistols manager, Malcolm McLaren.

The band have also appeared on BBC Radio as part of the BBC introducing initiative played at a BBC Introducing festival in August this year.

Me and the Beast have gained many followers and fans through their website and especially the ‘Friday Night Sessions’ where the band film videos of either a new track, or analready existing track that has a new twist!

Me and The Beast are very much a studio driven act with a big slant towards the showing themselves to the world via their innovative website www.meandthebeast.com

“ME AND THE BEAST” – They’re from London but this left field lyrical electro pop has a Bjork like eccentricity, Kate Bush enigmatics in the vocals, and even a touch of the Abbas in the music….piano, electro keyboards with bit of Fiery Furnaces quirkiness. Really original, weird and wonderful songs. Very unselfconscious and hypnotic.”
