We were asked by Dreamworks to re record our version of the Theme for transformers for the 2007 movie, however at the last minute the soundtrack was taken over by a major US label so we were omitted. The video for the 2007 version is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAEJgFIXl4c

We have a number of MP3s available from our download site at www.meatbee.com as well as mp3.com.au

Our track transformers (acoustic version) (from the EP MEATBEE) has been#1 on the mp3.com.au hard rock chart for over three years and has been downloaded an average of 1000 times per month since its release from our website.

Bio

MEATBEE formed in the year 2000 and have proven to be a dynamic and ambitious band. Consisting of Kate Sullivan (vocals/rhythm guitar), Ben Lopez (lead guitar), Charlie Bigg-Wither (drums), and Chris Holly (Bass) MEATBEE combine their unique blend of guitar driven rock and bluesy melody with passion and enthusiasm for their music.

MEATBEE have played supports for artists as diverse as Pete Murray, Jimmy Barnes, Waikiki, and Nitocris. The band push themselves not only to create exciting and innovative music, but also to keep shows varied in their format.

MEATBEE are not only renowned for their larger than life electric sets, but also for acoustic sets, and an acoustic duo put together by Ben and Kate. This has made them attractive to many artists as openers for a show.

MEATBEE have also had success in the recording studio. Their independently released debut EP 'If I Were King' was so popular that the first run of 500 CDs sold out due to sold out gigs within the first month of its release.

MEATBEE's second acoustic EP self-titled 'MEATBEE' received airplay on both the Triple J and Austereo networks, and again proved a fast seller at the band's live gigs.

MEATBEE were asked by Dreamworks to re record their version of the Theme for transformers for the 2007 movie, however at the last minute the soundtrack was taken over by a major US label so we were omitted. The video for the 2007 version is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAEJgFIXl4c

When it comes to MEATBEE, the story is only just getting started. With a video clip that was aired on Rage but banned in the UK, a website which attracts over 1000 hits per month, live gigs which have attracted crowds of 500 to 800 punters, and two independently released EPs which combined have sold close to 2000 copies in their local area alone, MEATBEE have well and truly learnt how to stretch their wings and are ready to hit the ground running.
