Two friends formed the hip-hop, indie-rock group: Mechanical Mind Framez in 2002. They started writing and rapping together in the small, talent-rich town of Franklin, Louisiana where they grew up. Originally they only listened to hip-hop groups such as Scarface, 2pac, and Outkast; but as adults they became tired of the politics and “tough guy” persona presented in hip-hop. As a result they began listening to various types of music which inspired their own style. In 2006 they started recording in the studio and making demo tracks.

Even though the group was persecuted for their style of music and told that they were "sell-outs", they continued to make music. Calvin, the founder of the group, said it doesn't matter what other people think of their music because they aren't making music for fame or fortune.

"Our goal is to make music for people who love variety in music and not just Hip Hop, Rhythm and Blues, or Rock. We make music for open-minded people who listen to everything because we want to capture hearts of people internationally. We realized that music does not know color. There is a certain feeling that you get in your soul when you create music and music takes your mind to another place."

The group consists of: Calvin Babino "YT" (founder) and Michquell Dyer "Mr. Untamed" (co- founder). They play with various bands for live performances and they write and perform many different types of music suited to clubs, events, and soundtracks.
