"Mechanics of Things CD "Twin Electric Death""

Review – Mechanics Of Things – Twin Electric Death
I’ve said it many times before but the Midwest is a hotbed for good music. Ohio seems to be the focal point for this music. This next band, Mechanics of Things, is another to add to the list of newer, up and coming bands ready to tear things up in their path.

Their album, Twin Electric Death is a whirlwind of 80's, 90's, modern and stoner metal. It even borrows some thrash and black metal at times (not as much though).

Right from the get go you had better buckle up because you’re in for a 44 minute ass whooping. “T.E.D. Twin Electric Death” gets it going and you don’t get a chance to slow down until “Halo” which is the 9th track. “Halo” is a bit softer and mellower” but when you get to the next and final track, “Drown You,” your breather is done. They even do an awesome cover of “Sonic Reducer” by The Dead Boys as a hidden track to top it off.

I’ve never seen these guys live. I’d like to and I imagine that I’d see some whipped up kids in the pit as they play on stage. Twin Electric Death is a finely tuned album begging for your attention. It’s a great companion piece to your already metal collection and a great album to rock out to from start to finish. It’ll strike you like a shovel in the head but the after effects are worth the price of admission. Check them out and I’m sure you’ll agree.

Bio

Mechanics of Things" was born from an inspiration of singer, Paul Conaway, evolving into a live band in the summer of 07. In the winter of 09, Mechanics of Things began recording at Cleveland's Ante Up Studio under producers Mark Baker and Pete Schmuhl of Sonar 73 Productions. In January 2010, Mechanics of Things fortified their powerful dimension, adding ML, former drummer of NUCLEON, to their already trebuchet sound. In January 2011, Mechanics of Things released thier first full length cd "TWIN ELECTRIC DEATH" with 10 tracks, featuring Paper Suicide, Gasoline, and 100 WATT, which was mixed by the legendary Ron Saint Germain. The band blends a mix of metal, hard rock and old school punk. (If White Zombie, Kyuss and Black Sabbath joined together and gave birth, Mechanics of Things would be The Bastard Child..)
