Median Bio:
Median is a three piece heavy-groove-indie-grunge-rock band based out of Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, MI. Formed in August of 2002 by Chris Martin (Vocals & Guitar), Jeffrey Ochs (bass), Chris Phillips (drums & vocals) and Scott Eschelbach (guitar), Median performed for the first time at Ann Arbor's Blind Pig less than a month after its formation. Median has also featured Jeremy Castorena on lead guitars after the departure of Scott. Currently a three piece, Median continues to perform and support their 2nd album, Aggressive Lounge, which was released on July 2nd, 2005.

Median has spent the last two years gigging extensively around Ann Arbor and Detroit MI and is now looking to expand the geography in which their intense live performances occur. Over the last couple of years Median has performed a plethora of successful shows at the likes of St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor and the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti. With a unique blend of groove, harmony and heaviness, Median had been able to share the stage with and be accepted and enjoyed by the fans of a variety of bands including The Ghettobillies, Dropjaw, Oblivion, The Casionauts, Roadside Zoo and Human Wick Effect.

Since it's Inception, Median has done everything on their own. They have recorded their own music in their own studio, released their own album independently and stand poised to repeat the process with a new intensity that is also reflected in Median's new material on their forthcoming second album slated for release in early 2005. While on the most visceral level Median is a rock band, they are not so easily categorized as such. With a groove and intensity not always found in today's rock, Median stands apart both with their sound and their dedicated do-it-yourself attitude.
