Bio

The Media Noche Trio formed in early 2010 at Indiana University’s famed Jacob’s School of Music.
Playing together for several years as part of groups like The Latin Jazz Collective and El Fuego Lento, this fiery three-piece was heavily influenced by the music of Latin America and the teaching and mentor-ship of master percussionist Michael Spiro.

The jazz-rooted keyboard/bass/drum trio interweaves many genres in the live performance setting, and in addition to many originals, applies a unique and often intense Latin/Funky flavor to all sorts of standards.
By applying their unique influences from Afro-Centric musics of Latin America and the Caribbean, this threesome is able to provide a unique sound to the tunes they write and arrange for the live performance venue.

Studying with masters like Michael Spiro, David Baker, Jeremy Allen, Luke Gillespie, Sandy Perez, Jesus Diaz, Mike Clark, and playing/working with many more like Corey Christiansen, Sylvia McNair, & Ignaccio Berroa (to name a few) has molded these three musicians in a way that not many people in their early 20's are fortunate enough to experience.
Because of their unique experiences both on the stage and in the studio (together and individually), they are able to share a type of music that they are extremely proud of and their joy is both apparent and infectious whenever they play.

MNT recently finished recording their first album featuring nine original tracks, and you can catch them at several venues and universities during their Midwest/Southeast tour through March of 2011.
