Meek

"My goal is to write lyrics deep enough to pierce people's hearts, yet light enough to make them wanna dance. Overall I want to see change...do my part in ministry."
So who is Meek? She is a Salisbury, NC native who used to be a military brat; something she says she appreciates most about her childhood because of her exposure to diverse cultures. "Living in Europe expanded my mind more than any other time in my youth. The music experience for me was like no other because I heard and learned to appreciate music from many nations."
Meek has a degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Christian Counseling. She hopes to one day use those skills to guide and counsel others. "How much more satisfying if I can also comfort people through song. Since I can't sit down face to face with them all, maybe my music can help bring them comfort."
Meek writes as she is lead by God. " If my heart begins to race in the writing process," she says "then I'm definitely on the right track." When asked what success means in terms of her music, Meek replies, "Pleasing God is my first goal, and if I can make someone say, 'I really needed that,' then I've done my job."
Meek is married to producer Danny R. "Doc Fantom" Smith, Jr., and they have two children.
