Meg Ashling

Born and raised in rural Minnesota, Meg grew up hearing her dad and granddad play Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, and Ray Price. Since 2004, she has played with various bands such as The Gilded Age, Western Fifth, Anthony Newes, and Gabe Barnett, as well as playing solo in her own style of roots-country-blues with a dash of 60s-70s folk-rock. A true bard at heart, Meg's inspiration comes mostly from Nature, and many of her original songs have prophetic overtones. She believes in using music for healing, and to give a voice to those who cannot otherwise speak for themselves.
