Finally, Megabig closed the bill out with their unique, borderline schizophrenic, mixing of genres. The band can move through a slinky blues jam, spin it into a stomping behemoth of rock riffage, and then fold it neatly into a Link Wray styled “cool yer jets” instrumental. You never exactly know what you’re going to get from Megabig, but you can rest assured that the band will play with precision, and that’s part of what makes them one of Austin’s best rock acts. - Austin Fusion Magazine

"Introducing: MEGABIG"

MEGABIG harkens back to the era of Van Halen with a bluegrass tinge. Despite how terrible that idea sounds, MEGABIG is absolutely fantastic and gives us the best of power chord rock and roll. What makes the band’s self-titled debut EP so good is that the band, unlike the genre they are modeling themselves after, isn’t afraid to try something non-commercial and potentially off putting. The guitar will switch from basic power chords to a searing solo, the back-up vocals are inspired, and in addition to this there are moments where the entire song will just devolve into Sonic Youth noise.

On top of all of this MEGABIG is just, simply put, fun. It has the same six pack-loving care free feel that is indicative of hair metal bands, but the music itself isn’t as bland as that genre. Each track offers the listener a new form of pure rock and roll joy. - The Deli Magazine

MEGABIG - Living In The Underground (Aug 2013)

MEGABIG formed in the summer of 2011. Singer and guitarist, Danny Bravo met Jon Fichter and Daniel Blanchard through an annual music retreat held at a ranch in Llano, TX. It was there that the three played together for the first time. Within a month of that trip, the three had begun working on a handful of songs, and had come up with a name. MEGABIG.

By September of that year, MEGABIG had written enough material to begin booking shows. While this was happening they started taking trips back up to the ranch in Llano to record and demo new material. These first recording were all done by the band and used as a basis for what would become their debut EP.

In the early part of 2012, MEGABIG finally stepped into the studio to work on there self titled EP. In about 3 days of recording the band had completed the record. From there, it was handed off to local producer and engineer, Kevin Butler, for mixing and mastering. MEGABIG release their debut EP on September 1st of 2012.

MEGABIG is now working on finishing up a full length record that will be out in August of 2013.
