Bio
Megan Gailey grew up in Indianapolis, the perfect town to raise a delusional upper-middle class Midwestern socialite. After hosting Chi Omega’s sorority brunch auctions for four years at Purdue University, Megan graduated with a Sports Broadcasting degree and moved home to her parents’ gated community to care for her Alzheimer’s ridden, nudist grandmother. The monotonous exercising and grocery-shopping schedule led her to stand-up.
Megan’s honesty, self-loathing and unapologetic love of money, professional athletes, and elderly people made her an instant favorite in Indy and helped launch her in the Chicago comedy scene.
Gailey is a must-have at top National Clubs like The Improv, The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Attic (Bloomington, IN), Comedy on State (Madison, WI) and The Comedy Club (Rochester, NY). Opening for Brad Garrett, Amy Schumer, John Roy and April Macie. Megan also loves all the stages in Chicago, performing for fellow downtown yuppies at Comedians You Should Know and Second City, hip Northside crowds at Speak Easy Comedy, and even for crowds that should inherently hate her but wind up loving her at Mikey O’s Comedy Cantina.
A founding member of Chicago’s stand-up and sketch group “Your Funniest Friends”, finalist in NYC’s Laugh Devil Festival and co-host of the Chicago comedy podcast “Naked Sports Live” Megan works and applies makeup at a fanatical pace. She continues to search for a rich husband, just in case.
