Megan Harty

Hey, my name is Megan Harty.

Some info about me:
I am 18 years young and from Anchorage Alaska.
I am a singer/songwriter.
Besides writing and singing, I also play: the cello, guitar, and accompaniment piano and some ukulele.
I am also an actress.

Now, about the music:
I have been involved in music as long as I have been alive, I come from a very musical family. I have been singing for as long as I can remember, playing cello since fourth grade, guitar for about three years, piano on and off since I was four, and ukulele here and there for my whole life. In between all of that I have also been able to get my hands on other instruments, like: the oboe, clarinet, saxophone, violin, and electric bass. (But don't ask me to play those instruments, cause I forgot how to...)
I started writing songs in middle school, it was a hard time for me and writing helped me get through it. I never actually did anything with those songs tho, that and the singing was just a hobby then. I didn't actually start performing and recording songs until I was 15. Now, I perform and write songs on a regular basis and LOVE it :)

Some of my influences are Sara Barellies, Colbie Caillat, and Bruno Mars. I love all three of them because their songs actually have meaning and passion behind them.
In turn, I write my songs with meaning and passion. (I have been through a lot in my short 18 years of life.) I have a indie pop feel to my songs, and the songs are easy to listen to.
