BandFolkSoul

I realize now that music is less about what I, individually, am able to get from a performance, and more about what we are all able to experience and feel while the show is going on.

Biography

Originally from Northern California, just outside of Sacramento, megan was raised in a small community dedicated to horses and the preservation of open land.
While studying on and off in Boston for the past 4 years, she met a group of individuals and got involved in the community of Monkey Rock. The community is small but supports one another by promoting and performing as a group. She has been working with them, and with others from the Boston music community, for the past 3 years to throw shows that support the goals of unsigned artists.
She has just put out a 6 song EP - "Wandering Bones" which was recorded with members of the Monkey Rock community at the "Death Star" in South Central L.A.

Lyrics

Waterlogged

Written By: Megan Lui

Sinking falling, I dive in
Rowing my arms through the thin cool skin
Under the water silence grips my ears
Kicking floating water holds my years

Follow me, follow me in
We’ll Swim from the years that we have been
Taking my breath now
I will breath as I go down

I know what I have done, cause I’ve done it again
I just keep on falling, and I don’t know when
I’ll learn how to swim

Follow me follow me in
We'll swim from the years that we have been
Taking my breath now
I will breath as I go down

I’ve gotta reach the pond before the frost does
Or I’ll break my leg on the glassy edge
And if I crack my untamed shin
I will let myself heal my broken skin
I will go down, I will breath as I go down

follow me follow me in
we'll swim from the years that we have been
taking my breath now
I will breath as I go down

Undefinable

Written By: Megan Lui

You were a lonely heartsick boy
I was a wild creature girl
You helped to tame me, I helped to heal you
Somewhere in the middle of it all

Undefinable, Undeniable
We’re just two kids stuck in a tree
stuck in a tree

We can see the land it stays the same
Even though we’ve grown apart,
And we have come to far to not climb down
Time will use us and test our will

Undefinable, Undeniable
We’re just two kids stuck in a tree
stuck in a tree

But I am climbing down, its safer on the ground
I will give you my hand to help you down
Cause I can't stay up here

Undefinable, Undeniable
We’re just
We're just
We're just two kids stuck in a tree

Five Feet Tall

Written By: Megan Lui

Lets start from the beginning
I will control the sound
I will control my mouth, I can’t stop I can’t stop

I just keep on talking without myself
I can hear my voice when the words come out
But I just keep talking I just keep talking, talking

Five feet tall and two quarters then,
I stood as high as I could
Wearing my mouth dry
With words that didn’t know how or why to
Keep the silence silent and still

I just keep on talking without myself
I can hear my voice when the words come out
But I just keep talking, I just keep talking, talking without myself

Now that I’m three inches taller
Know how to keep my mouth smaller
My feet still tangle me in what I know and what I want

I just keep on talking without myself
I can hear my voice when the words come out
But I just keep talking, I just keep talking, talking without my-

Stop now tell me how to shape the sound
And I will repeat what I’ve been taught
I will repeat what I’ve been taught
