Megan Shorey was once discribed as the lost sister of Diamanda Galas and Tori Amos, but this operatically trained Australian performer brings a vocal passion to her works unlike another.
In her 2006 European Festival debut 'The Noorderzon Festival' (Holland) embraced Megan Shorey with a headline status that saw her show sell out within the first day of ticket sales. Tales of eager festival goers standing in line for over 70 minutes for a prized ticket ensured a highly anticipated show with standing room only. As the ovations and encores promised, Megans EP The Live Session also sold out within minutes.
As Megan raises her sometimes ugly head her honesty may confront, but you will without a doubt be moved... or at least be challenged to do so.

Megan Shorey is a very kind and gentle woman who sings about the many aspects of life. I loved her concert, her classically trained voice and the sparkling piano chords. The themes in her songs were very recognisable and sometimes confronting to me. Through her music Megan shows that beauty can be found everywhere, also in very difficult circumstances. I look forward to her next concert in the Netherlands!
