Bio

Megan Grace Tibbits was born in Caro, Michigan. She is the youngest of two daughters to Russell and Deanna Tibbits. When she was just 4 years old, Megan began performing on stage with her family in a musical group named “Living Truth”. Russ and Dee Dee Tibbits, along with Megan’s aunt and uncle, would write songs, arrange four part harmonies, and take them on the road. “Living Truth” toured throughout Michigan and neighboring states before expanding to a few states across the country. When she was just 5 years old she began singing harmony parts to her family’s music. From a young age, Megan found her passion in music.

When Megan was 12, she was cast into her first Musical Theater production as Annie in the musical “Annie”. This having sparked a love of theater in her, Megan went on to perform main roles in other plays and musicals such as Snoopy in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, Abby Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Lace”, Duchess Gloriana in “The Mouse the Roared”, and Meg in “Little Women. Age 12 also contained the composition of Megan’s first original song for guitar and voice. She continued writing music as she practiced guitar and piano, picking up skills on other instruments that her mother had around the house such as harp, saxophone, and oboe.

In college, Megan continued to pursue her love of music through receiving her BA in Music Education at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her time at Cornerstone opened up many musical opportunities such as worship leading, to which she found a passion for as well. She became the intern worship leader for the Cornerstone campus where she and her band led over 750 faculty, staff and students in weekly worship. She also began gigging her original music in venues around the Grand Rapids area.

Upon graduation, Megan moved to California and joined the performance group “The Young Americans” and went on to perform and teach on two international music outreach tours in Japan and Europe, followed by a tour in the U.S. and a summer of performing at the Boyne Highlands dinner theater.

Megan is currently performing in Michigan at the Boyne Highlands dinner theater and is pursuing her dream of having a career as a singer/songwriter and performer.
