Melange began in Santa Fe NM in 1990. We released our first cd-CHILDS PLAY- in 1991 and won the New Mexico Music Industry Coalition award for Best Songwriting. We haven't looked back since! We have toured throughout the Southwest, Colorado and Northern California, entertaining audiences at all shapes and sizes of venues from coffee houses to concert halls. We are continually asked back to perform. We bring a unique sound and show to our engagements incorporating sets, lights, costuming and special effects. No venue is too large or too small for us. WE ADAPT!! Our biggest influence is us-our music comes from our hearts and draws on many different styles and genres. (Thats why it is so hard to pick just one genre for our music) There is certainly a latin influence but one hears jazz, rock and classical musical forms as well. Sometimes we are compared to a cross of Jethro Tull and Yes with a touch of Gypsy Kings. Our front person/flutist literally brings the audiences with us on our musical journey at each show, drawing on her skills not only as a musician/songwriter but incorporating her background in Flamenco dancing and storytelling.
