Melanie Dekker is a Canadian roots-pop sensation with a 'voice like chocolate’. Her songs weave between emotion and sensibilities as they tug on your heart and leave you smiling. Her songs hit with immediate impact and she tours a shed-load! :) On March 2nd, 2018 ‘Secret Spot’ was fresh out of the gates, this is her 6th studio album. Her past CDs have some fabulous accolades: 'Distant Star' sold 12,000 copies and "Revealed' was produced by David Kershenbaum (Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson). Dekker has radio hits and music syndicated on both film & TV, she tours 80 concerts per year, she’s been the support act for Bryan Adams, Diana Krall, Russell Peters, Edwin McCain, & Faith Hill and her string of popular youtube videos include the Polar Bear Swim, 2010 Olympics, her own tooth removal, concerts in Afghanistan, and a romantic run-in with a mannequin.
Dekker's influences include Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer & CCR.
Festival Highlights - Headlined the Viru Folk Music Fest in Estonia || Skagen Music Festival, the Ebeltoft Music Festival & Nibe Music Festival in Denmark || Hildesheim Jazz Festival, the Dresden Stadt Fest & the Rudolstadt World Music festival in Germany || and at home in Canada she’s a regular at the W.Vancouver Harmony Arts Festival, the Shambhala Music Festival & the Filberg Folk Music Festival, in BC, Canada.
