"Our First Review"

Pretty impressive stuff for a band that's only been together for just over a year ;-) Too often I find that bands that list themselves as rock & jamband, end up sounding all the same; boring, mundane & clumsy sounding

I am always pleasantly surprised when I get to hear a band that surpasses my expectations and Meld has certainly done that. Just an all-round, tight, accomplished band and with a fairly melodic groove happening. Really like the vocals too. All the best for the future.

"My Melded Review"

“On Friday night I was approached by one of your members who persuaded me to check out your music. For the most part, I am a heavy-metal fan…

I find the vocals to resemble Robert Plant, slightly Mick Jagger, with a modest hint of Blue Öyster Cult’s Eric Bloom. The guitars correspond to where the emotion of blues is accentuated. I hear a little bit of Eric Clapton in there. The bass lines in “The Gambling Song” are my favorite parts. They represent something influenced by Flea’s well-known style of funk rock, demonstrating a precise beat and recognizable presence that is virtually impossible to disregard…

The four of you are without a doubt musically gifted. For the most part, this is good music to smoke a bowl to, if you’re into that sort thing…”

Bio

Local San Diego band, Meld, first met in January of 2005. Six days later they performed their first show at an open mic at Blind Melons. They were asked to come back the next week as the featured artist. Ever since then Meld has been on a roll. They have been performing shows all over San Diego. In October of 2005 they recorded a 5 song ep at Rolling Thunder Studios named "Squares".

Meld blends together the sounds of blues, rock, and funk into a unique mixture of foot stomping, hand clapping music. Their propensity to jam also leaves the audience guessing as to how they are going to play their next song.

Meld has over three hours of great music, with a good mixture of originals and covers including; Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Herbie Hancock, The Black Crowes, and Van Morrison to name a few.
