Lesson

Written By: Melinda J Wells

Thank you that you couldn’t see the many things I had to offer
Thank you that you painted me in black and white devoid of colour
I thank you for choosing to be teacher in this time of learning
I have only realised the value of my deepest yearning
I learnt my lesson well
Thank you for the superficial masquerade that you delivered
Thank you for the coldness of your lies you know I ached and shivered
Thank you for consistently pursuing me into awareness
I only have gratitude for life is full of love and fairness
I learnt my lesson well, I learnt my lesson well
Thank you for the criticism levelled at my innocence
Thank you for the overwhelming push that knocked me off the fence
And thank you for the demonstration of betrayal and undermining
Thank you that my head’s held high and for the peace my heart is pining for
I learnt my lesson well…
I have learnt from my discretion, I will make my big confession
Finding peace is my obsession, I have learnt my lesson
Thank you that you couldn’t see the many things I had to offer
Thank you that you painted me in black and white devoid of colour
Thank you that your ignorance has lead me to this understanding
Thank you for the perfect timing, perfect fall and perfect timing
I learnt my lesson well I learnt my lesson well
I learnt my lesson well.

Will A Promise Be Enough

Written By: Melinda J Wells and Bree Wells

We are young and we are brave, we are few but we are many,
And we’re living in a world you may never understand
From every walk of life, in hope we are united
Standing here in front of you and holding out our hands.

It’s not about your sympathy, we’re searching for your empathy,
A promise to remember me, is this a promise you can keep?
Empty words are not enough, they will never comfort us,
Will a promise be enough? A promise to remember us?

We are different yet the same, you can’t tell by just looking,
From the outside you won’t see, see the reason why
When one is not enough, many more will gather
This is our message of hope, keep our message alive

It’s not about your sympathy, we’re searching for your empathy,
A promise to remember me, is this a promise you can keep?
Empty words are not enough, they will never comfort us,
Will a promise be enough? A promise to remember us…

Will a promise be enough? Will a promise be enough?
Will a promise be enough? A promise to remember.
Will a promise be enough? Will a promise be enough?
Will a promise be enough? A promise to remember.
Will a promise be enough? Will a promise be enough?
Will a promise be enough? A promise to remember us

Simple Man

Written By: Melinda J Wells

He was a simple man lived in main street, Fixing your shoes down near Albion Hotel
Everyone loved him, the larrikin man who was quick with a joke, he was music and laughter
He worked on his own & married a girl they said he was poor & he wouldn’t support her
He gave her love and he gave her six children, but there were the times he would drown all his sorrows

When the amber hit home he would cry for his children and all of their pain crushed his heart
Feelings of helplessness, he couldn’t take it away, take it away
He was just a simple man…. Simple man
He was just a simple man…. Simple man

He liked to impress them with his crazy style, with his yellow suit and an oversized bow tie

And every occasion that needed a clown had the man without care of another’s opinion

When he stood in the aisles of his beloved church and they shunned him as he asked for help
He wondered how they held their heads up so high while he humbled himself for his God, For his God

He was just a simple man…. Simple man
He was just a simple man…. Simple man

The years tumbled by, pulled his baby aside
Said ‘I see my spirit in your bluest eyes’
Don’t follow too closely and die with the music still inside, So much that I didn’t
do, take my dreams and don’t be afraid, I’ll always be with you inside….

He was a simple man, not yet turned 60. When Father’s Day came, his heart it stopped beating
His journey was over, his time it was gone and this great big world would circle without that simple man….
Baby remembered the words he had spoken, she carried his faith in her deepest believing
The others would shun her and turn on her coldly but she knew the truth and the ones who could see she was
her father’s daughter, and everything good, they would love her as they had loved him
And all through the years as she changed the world she knew his wish was fulfilled
Simple man… Simple man.

Call You Friend

Written By: Melinda J Wells

I call you crazy and you say I’m insane
Fall over laughing play our game
We act like teenagers and we feel the same
And I’m blessed to call you friend
I never get lonely and the phone always rings
When we’re together I swear I have wings
The good times roll on and my heart it sings
And I’m blessed to call you friend
And I’m blessed to call you friend

I can never say, words cannot explain,
Songs will only whisper of the joy you bring me
Time can never tell, days can only try,
Rainbows are the colours and the beauty that you are
And I’m blessed to call you friend

A love like ours will never fade away
Lasts a lifetime if it lasts a day
You are the sunshine on a cloudy day
And I’m blessed to call you friend
There’s no need to hide my tears
You wash away my childish fears
Disregard my passing years
And I’m blessed to call you friend
And I’m blessed to call you friend

I can never say, words cannot explain,
Songs will only whisper of the joy you bring me
Time can never tell, days can only try,
Rainbows are the colours and the beauty that you are
And I’m blessed to call you friend
And I’m blessed to call you friend………… call you friend…………

I can never say, words cannot explain,
Songs will only whisper of the joy you bring me
Time can never tell, days can only try,
Rainbows are the colours and the beauty that you -
I can never say, words cannot explain,
Songs will only whisper of the joy you bring me
Time can never tell, days can only try,
Rainbows are the colours and the beauty that you are
And I’m blessed to call you friend
And I’m blessed to call you friend
Blessed to call you friend

Wayside

Written By: Melinda J Wells

Falling, falling by the wayside…. Falling, falling by the wayside….

The clock on the wall won’t tell you the truth, It’s a man made delusion right under your roof
Time cannot give you the peace that you crave or the small piece of sanity that makes you brave
Falling, falling , falling….
You’re letting me fall, and I’m losing my grip, don’t let me drown upon this sinking ship
I am your conscious, the unspoken word, the wisdom created that’s seldom been heard
Oh yeah yeah yeah

Falling, falling by the wayside…. Falling, falling by the wayside….

You know I am here, beneath your pain, below all the thoughts that must drive you insane
The lies you believe can all be revealed, and rise up above all the anguish you feel
Falling, falling , falling….
The victim remains, she’s covered in blame, what’s left is a sad life devoured by shame
This is the shadow that’s made from the light, please surrender and give up the fight
Oh yeah yeah yeah

Falling, falling by the wayside…. Falling, falling by the wayside….
Falling, falling by the wayside…. Falling, falling by the wayside….

But you can stop! And give me a voice, I offer you hope and I offer you choice
Yes you can stop! And give up the game, this life that you’re living will not remain

Falling, falling by the wayside…. Falling, falling, falling, falling, falling, falling….

Don’t let me fall, and don’t let me sleep, Don’t leave me begging down here at your feet
Cause I am your strength, I am your might, Please surrender to this blessed light

Oh yeah yeah yeah
Falling, falling by the wayside

Who I Am

Written By: Melinda J Wells

I’m asking the question and turning the page
Leave no stone unturned in my coming of age
The wisdom of those who had felt it before
They have opened my eyes and I’ve opened the door

You and I came from the place that we knew
A pre-written contract so sacred and true
To be so unknowing until we could see
That we already knew what our friendship would be

I want to know who I am, I want to know who I am

The unspoken language that comes from that place
Is infinite wisdom, unspeakable grace
And indelible presence that comes from within
The invincible truth is determined to win

Those that would come with their sorrow and pain
Inflicting the lessons for the knowledge we gain

Undoing the ignorance left by the scars
we follow the guide of the moon and the stars

I want to know who I am, I want to know who I am

I think I know who I am, I think I know who I am
I think I know who I am, I think I know who I am

Can you believe in the things you don’t see
Can you imagine us eternally
And all of the answers we’re looking to find
Is just the remembering lost in our minds

I think I know who I am, I think I know who I am
I think I know

Look a Little Harder

Written By: Melinda J Wells

It’s a shame that you can’t see the other side of life, Look a little harder
It’s a pity you can’t see the forest for the trees, Look a little longer
Sometimes we can take for granted all the things we have, Look a little harder
Often times the things we crave are right before our eyes won’t you look a little harder….

You may not even know, you may not even know what you’re missing…. What you’re missing….

It’s a shame your eyes are closed to what’s beyond your reach, Look a little harder
It’s a pity there’s no telling if you’ll ever know, Look a little harder
Sometimes there’s a guiding light that’s very hard to see, Look a little longer
Often times we walk in darkness but you will always find a way

You may not even know, you may not even know what you’re missing…. What you’re missing….

And if I look a little harder, I might find something that I didn’t see before
And if I look a little longer, I might find something that I didn’t see before
You can’t live your life believing in nothing, believing in nothing

Right before your eyes, right before your eyes…

And if I look a little harder, I might find something that I didn’t see before
And if I look a little longer, I might find something that I didn’t see before
You can’t live your life believing in nothing

Right before your eyes, right before your eyes, right before your eyes, right before your eyes
Look a little harder, look a little longer, look a little harder.

Song For You

Written By: Melinda J Wells

Pieces of ignorance keep falling down,
truth is awakening without a sound
Calling us boldly, leading us through,
now you found me and I found you
We are connected, we are divine,
taking the steps without crossing the line
There are no accidents there is no chance,
we are the dancers and life is a dance
This is my song, these are my words.
Wrapped in love and clothed in truth for you

Blessed are we to be filled with the light,
not labelling love to be wrong or be right
Yes we are safe in the knowing we share,
What lies before us is beyond compare
Bringer of joy and lover of mind,
savour the journey in space and in time
Wonderful things we are destined to do,
coming together, creating the new
This is my song, these are my words.
Wrapped in love and clothed in truth for you

The eyes of my insight directed at you,
intuitive knowing can only be true
The essence of passion is real and profound,
I hear you words without making a sound
This is my song, these are my words.
Wrapped in love and clothed in truth

Spirit is moving us, powerful, strong,
we have the freedom, it’s where we belong
Igniting the fire in our hearts that we feel, making it real
Filled with desire of changing the earth,
we gather together to witness the birth
Of all our ideas, our purpose in life, dreams reveal

This is my song, these are my words.
Wrapped in love and clothed in truth
This is my song, these are my words.
Wrapped in love and clothed in truth for you
