Bio
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Melisa Kary has been a professional vocalist since the age of 17. Her talent has taken her on tour with "Starship", "Voices of Rock", which included Mike Reno, lead singer of "Loverboy", (whom with she had the honor of singing the well known duet "Almost Paradise" ), Jimmy Jamison of "Survivor", Dave Jenkins of "Pablo Cruise", and the list goes on.........
Her talent has also kept her busy in many Bay Area and Southern California recording studios. Melisa has worked extensively as a guide and background vocalist for artists; Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Brenda Russell, Peabo Bryson, James Brown, Todd Rundgren, and Mickey Thomas of 'Starship'. Special thanks to producers; Narada Michael Walden, Walter Afanasieff, Todd Rungren and Michael Bolton.
Beside her album work and touring, Melisa is also a popular vocalist among commercial composers. Her television endeavors include projects for Taco Bell, Mazda, Toyota, Mattel Toys, Cost Plus, Disney, Clorox, and more. Her talent has been showcased on three on-camera assignments for Taco Bell in which she sang the lead vocal.
She also appeared on the Arsenio Hall Show with "Starship", and she opened a season for Star Search in the Female Vocalist catagory.
In sum, Melisa loves to do it all. Whether it be singing live, on screen, or in the studio.
She is currently recording a new cd with the brilliantly talented guitarist/producer Howard Hart (www.howardhart.com), which she is very excited and passionate about, and looks forward to sharing it with all who'll listen!! Please stay tuned!!!
