Melissa Benjamin (2009) Melissa debut's her powerful voice to the world of bluegrass
& gospel. Her single, “Crossville,” was
adopted by her hometown as the official city song. She toured this album for a
year and started working on new songs. With new songs came a new sound that had
evolved into indie and country-soul genres.
Just Me (2010) Features two original songs, “Southern Spitfire” &
“Boy Next Door.” Notably, the album
showcases her musicianship on guitar & piano, as well as her distinct,
powerful voice that defines her art.

Melissa Ellis is an Americana, blues, and country artist from Nashville, Tennessee delivering powerful vocal ballads in vein of Brandi Carlile, Norah Jones & Beth Hart. Coined “The Southern Spitfire” as a child, Melissa Ellis lives up to the name with her high energy performances and funny wit that leaves concert goers saying things like, “This was the best live musical performance I have ever witnessed.” (Matt, Concert Goer).
Melissa found her natural talent as toddler and began singing every opportunity she could. She performed on stage for the first time at just two years of age. By the time she was in high school and early college, she dominated vocal competitions, winning several awards.
In 2009, Melissa released her debut album “Melissa Benjamin”, introducing her powerful voice to the world of bluegrass & gospel. Her single, “Crossville,” was adopted by her hometown as the official city song. She toured this album for a year and started working on new songs. With new songs came a new sound that had evolved into indie and country-soul genres.
Melissa’s sophomore album, “Just Me” was released in 2011 and features two original songs, “Southern Spitfire” & “Boy Next Door.” Notably, the album showcases her musicianship on guitar & piano, as well as her distinct, powerful voice that defines her art.
Currently in pre-production for her third studio album, Melissa’s latest musical journey brings out the deep emotional sounds of blues & soul with a touch of southern twang. Her repertoire includes several of her own songs mixed with re-imaginings of classic standards that are instantly familiar but presented in a fresh new ways.
